Guru Chaitanya Ganta is a Senior Staff Engineer at Cloudera with extensive experience in data projects, from ingestion to reporting. He has a strong background in solving scalability, availability, and latency-sensitive issues. Guru has worked closely on IBM JDK and provided fixes to components in IBM JDK. At Cloudera, Guru is currently working on the Public Cloud Networking Initiative, where he is responsible for CDP Public Cloud services (PaaS), Networking reference architecture of CDP, AWS Networking, Azure Networking, Kubernetes Connectivity, Private connectivity, Network Security, and more. Previously, he worked on several CDP Controlplane MicroServices primarily targeted at Kubernetes and authentication strategies like Ldap, Saml, and several other IAM pieces. He also worked on the certificate/trust management for CDP Private Cloud platform. Guru has also worked on the Kafka Engineering team, where he built end-to-end latency metrics feature in Streams Messaging Manager (SMM) using Kafka Streams without any external storage. He introduced Kerberos Authentication to SMM and worked on several other security aspects including Apache Knox-SMM integration. Guru also worked on several core and security features of Hortonworks Schema Registry, including Apache Ranger integration. Prior to Cloudera, Guru worked as a Tech Lead at 24/7.ai, where he owned the data lake and the platform that enables the data reporting and analytics capabilities for the entire company. He also worked on the replacement of an in-house reporting and analytics solution with a self-serve platform based on Hadoop, Spark, Oozie, Druid stack. Guru also worked on the development of a solution that ingests the visitor tracking data (clickstream) into their data pipeline and campaign execution solution that performs and persists the experimentation across multiple sessions, visitors, and also enables the downstream components with measuring the effectiveness of campaigns/models. Guru has a B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati. He has relevant experience of 14.79 years and a strong tech stack that includes Senior Software Engineer, Software Engineer, Kafka, Java, Kubernetes, AWS, Integration, Microservices, Azure, Spark, Hadoop, dotNET, Javascript, and Backend.
